‘…As I was reading this Donnie’s song just keeps playing in my head;
“I know that faith is easy
when everything is going well
But can you still believe in Me
when your life’s a living hell?
And when all the things around you
seem to quickly fade away
There’s just one thing
I really want to know
Will you let go?….”

The above was a part of my FAB sister Suzy’licious comment on my previous post on ‘The Battle…The WAR, and i instantly knew this was gonna be the koko of my next #WeekendBant. SONGS!!!!

Plus sometime recently, Titi’licious, another FAB sister of mine put up as her BBM Personal message, ‘…Faith makes a fool of what makes sense…’ and i ping her sharpaly to know the song name and title. Twas HillSong, Here now (Madness)

Guys, let’s share our Christian playlists abeg. Time to toss out those unedifying songs on our phones *side eye at the Gollibe and Ada Ada on my phone lol* and load it with CHRISTIAN songs.

I LOVE songs. I mean, i am that person who downloads a new song almost every day. Sometimes i just go on Tubidy and Google to see if any of my favourite gospel artists have released anything new to download. I am especially excited that Nigerian Gospel Artistes are springing up in their numbers with the most amazing indigenous tunes of worship and praise. Not just those ‘Sister Ngooo’ kinda songs with poor production and even poorer videos sang beside flower and swimming pool ooo. Mba. Very professionally done songs that would make you think twas Donnie singing but for the Yoruba/Igbo you hear. (Btw, shout out to those Sister Ngo’s. Step up ehn… My other Igbo name is Ngozi btw hahaha)

So this post would be a short one. Please and please, share those nice songs that have blessed/are blessing you. Especially (but not limited to) those ‘not-so-popular’ Nigerian CHRISTIAN artists in your church who have these amazing singles available for downloads. Stop listening alone. Help them to sell their ‘makate’. If you take songs from here and you don’t add, e no go good oooo. Plus they will disappear from your phone. Yup.

If you can share a link, perfect. If not, just drop the song and artist name and we would continue our friendship with Google.

Lemme share a few I am feeling at the mo’

Osu ba rere by Jaede

Chioma by PC (I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song)

Let the church say AMEN by Andréa Crouch

Miracle Worker by Glowreeyah and Nathaniel Bassey

Donnie’s Only you are Holy (Old song but my everyday beat. Classic)

Y’all know how much i LOVE anything MK especially Arugbo ojo

Ordinary People by D’amazing Cobhams (this video is ERR’THING)

And plenty plenty more but lemme stop here. Please add yours. Stingy don’t look good on you.

Yes you.

Have a blessed weekend boo and i’ma see you on Monday with a fresh post, amen J

God crazily loves you…

E’

PS

I can’t resist talking in some detail about ‘Chi Oma by PC’PC

PC is actually our Music Director at DCC Island church but i didn’t know him until When Women Worship. My goodness gracious. He scattered ground with worship. I am yet to meet him though but you can bet i soon will and i will take a picture

The song actually has this line which he repeats

‘…Chi onye di mma…Chi onye di ike…’ which literally translates to The God that is good, The God that is powerful

and as he ministered, he was saying

Chi onye di mma, SO GI bu Chi onye di ike which takes it to ‘The God that is good, The ONLY God that is powerful.

The ‘SO GI’ part made that ministration EVERYTHING for me. The song made the playlist of the CD in the gift pack we were given at When Women Worship and i realised that SO GI was a line he added as he ministered and it is not in the recorded version. Of course, i always say ‘…SO GI bu Chi onye di ike’

See ehn, when i enter ‘Chi oma mode’, it plays on endless repeat. I absolutely LOVE it.

Plus, it helps that he is quite a sight for sore eyes (even though he is laiskinned )and his voice is as rich and delicious as this honey tinted cashew nut which I am all about these days…

Ok I’ll stop *shines teeth*

    2. Christian songs by Sola Allyson. Another confession, I love indigenous praise o. I don’t know why but it just takes me to another realm. Aunty Sola (we are besties in my head) serves Yoruba praise and worship well!

Solomon Lange’s entire album titled “Grateful” is outta here!!! I totally recommend it. Most of the songs there are in hausa language but believe me guys you will be amazed at how u will quickly begin to worship God in hausa. Most of us know his english hit songs but the hausa songs are totally gboaaaaa!!!!. My wife praises God in soul lifting hausa songs now. 25. I’ve read through the comments and I’m almost so surprised NO ONE mentioned Frank Edwards new releases…well I’m here to do that. First of all is ‘Onye’ – the video is on Youtube…no real official audio yet tho. Excessively dope stuff!

Another ‘Where the Story began’…also done by Frank Edwards (he featured other Artists too). It’s such a beautiful song as it mirrors my life’s testimony. Here’s the link:
    http://gospelcentric.net/site/releases/frank-edwards-tells-his-story-with-new-single-where-the-story-began/

Then as you asked for fresh new guys, one of them that I know is Chen Emmanuel. He is a Chinese-Nigeria. He was raised in Nigeria though. He sings/speaks Igbo like what…he has a couple of great songs, Yahweh, Ezem…his songs are all free to download on his website:
    http://www.chenemmanuel.com/songs/

I must not fail to mention these others:

    Nathaniel Bassey – Casting Crowns
    Matt Redman – 10,000 reasons
Frank Edwards ft. Sinach – Idi Ebube

There you have it, my playlist for the past few weeks.
