EZIAHA

Did you know? That the very first times I wrote, that was on facebook, some years back, I called my writings the fab sisters diary… It was a diary… I chronicled some of my daily doings and happenings there. I recall then, we lived close to British council in Ikoyi when they still ran their library membership services, and so that was where I used to stay and write from. I wanna do something like this with this one… A recap of my weekend… Don’t mind me if I skip to last weekend too jare. The mind of a writer, very hyper active…

Let’s begin with last Sunday, so I wore OLEKU for the very first time in my life. I had had the dress for a while given to me by my uber fab sis. I dunno why I just didn’t like it jare so I never wore it… till that Sunday which doubled as our super Sunday tagged FAMILY AND FRIENDS. OH MY!!! Everyone paid me the sweetest compliments… On bb, in church, on the road, I was feeling like the super star that I so totally am… Yeah, read that again.

But the oleku is not even the main matter ooo. Tz the gist that happened right after church… You know I go to this tres amazing church, TRIUMPHANT ASSEMBLY… so my pastor’s wife called the ladies together to discuspressing matters hehehe… Just a little church etiquette, I thought I should share. Initially I wanted to do a special blogpost for it tagged FOR GIRLS ONLY… but laziness *le sigh*

Ok we know that these days dresses are getting shorter even in church. iI mean, i do not think church should turn people back on account of dressing except of course it is realllllllyyyyy bad. And some dresses look really nicer when they are a little above knee length or even knee length… So cute!! I am sure we all have some of them….

But the problem is now in when we sit… the dresses are ruched up even more and a more than fair amount of a fair portion of your lap is out there distracting men and women alike hehehe… so it only makes sense that we ladies you know throw in a scarf or pash into our bags and use it to cover up when we sit…Like the woman in the picture…

that way u don’t keep doing that uncomfy thing of pulling down the dress (Gosh, I do that a lot) and then you help the brothers to further keep their eyes averted and concentrate on the service. Ladies, inugo?

By the way, that woman there… That proposal… Tz from my Pastor’s pastor VICTOR ADEYEMI to his delectable adoring very gracious wife Jumoke Adeyemi… A public re-proposal at their 20th wedding anniversary… *tissue please* I love me a cool lovey dovey love story any day… Especially among believers… Ehen, i digress, as usual… Back to my story…

But that was not all ooo. You know those C-strap tank tops…

Really nice… me likey. What I do not and cannot understand are all the bra straps that I see peeking out of the dress… It has never struck me as fashionable biko… to me tz even in bad taste. I think even from the aetiology of the word ‘underwear’ we can see how it should be worn… UNDER the WEAR… simple. Like I said, I really love the C-back, no ish… but please don’t let the bra strap be doing peek-a-boo especially when in church. I love the solution my pastor’s wifey gave… If you cant throw on a bolero over it, or wear a strapless bra, then cross your bra straps behind SIMPLE…

That means that the bra strap, Victoria’s secret or Oshodi’s secret, the strap remains UNDER THE WEAR…
That goes without saying that it has to be a bra with a detachable strap of course… but these days sef there are all kinds of bras that one can wear that would not show outside the dress and are yet very comfy. Just visit any lingerie store and you will see. or even any open air market, lingerie section.. Thank me later…
That was also not all ooo…. You know that unforgivable color white sin abi? I mean, the golden rule is simple, when you wear a white skirt or trouser, THOU SHALT NOT WEAR WHITE UNDIES TOO… wear a darker color preferably good old reliable BLACK… once you wear white panties under a white trouser for example, the whole underwear is visible. Let me share this story with you that would make me never make same mistake again. I recall once when I contested for MISS PHARMACY when I was in pharmacy school, and you know how between the contestant and manager, so many last minute rushing and stuff. So Eziaha daughter of Ajaero was going to wear white trousers for my casual wear and wham, I totally forgot that I was wearing white undies. By the time I changed into casual right after the contestant’s group dance, my managers were like NAH Ezi you CAN NOT go on stage like this… Too much drama abeg… what to do what to do? Oh my!!! I was contestant number one and I was going to be called up in a quick minute. I wont even tell you how someone suggested that I should… infact PG… well finally someone said I should wear my jean inside… I was like ahnahn it would show now being that the white trousers had side slits

I can’t find a picture of me on stage that day with my jean underneath… used to have it ooo. Anyways tz the same pair of white trousers and if you look closely you would see the slit. Now imagine jeans peeking outta it… LOL… Anyways, just so we are clear, i still won… I was MISS PHARMACY… the first ever…

and then please look out for pant lines… they are so unsightly. G-strings you can wear if your skirt or trousers are very fitted, though G-strings are way outta my league… like what’s the point?

For me ooo. G-strings and thongs are just way uncomfy. If you find them uncomfy too, then wear full briefs or granny panties like they are called…

yeah I get it, you are young, but I am not saying wear it everyday even when you wear jeans jare… shebi you dig? Moreover there are some really really nice lacey panties that are almost or totally seamless. The lines remain invisible especially if you wear them well…. Ladies abeg, be underwear savvy…

Ladies basically, I am definitely not against looking good… I think it should be a sin to look terrible… And an even graver sin to not look your best when coming to church. That’s why I love my church mehn… My ladies are so super duper fabulous… but as in all things, moderation and decency is key…
Ok, I know I said I was gonna give a weekend roundup of this weekend. I am sorry booboo… right now I am tired and I am off to bed… sorry… let us continue tomorrow PHCN GOD willing… Meanwhile browsing with MTN FASTLINK right now is real torture… *le tears* RME I think i should heed all my brother’s talk to get a starcomm’s dongle… But starcomms sef, is it any berra?
Have a most productive week… I insist
Muah
